BE A VOLUNTEER

Working to end violence

BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION!

The support provided by our dedicated volunteers enables The Center to reach an average of 30,000 people each year.

Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.
~Margaret Mead

TRAINING
All direct service positions require certification training. This training (in both sexual assault and domestic violence) is held two or three times a year. Additional specialized trainings are required for positions such as in-house counselors and support group facilitators.

NOTE
Volunteer jobs can be performed on-site; or, for non-business hour hotline and some non-direct positions, from your home. Although we have expanded evening and weekend hours for counseling, most non-direct volunteering is done during business hours on Monday through Friday between 9AM and 5PM.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF AWARD

FELICIA PADUANO

The Center’s Service Above Self Award was established to recognize individuals who demonstrate dedication and commitment to our mission and the services we provide throughout our 13-town region. It is, as the name of the award connotes, someone who puts service above themselves.

This year’s recipient truly embodies that and so much more! Felicia Paduano has been a volunteer for The Center since 2015, and over these past 5 years has proven to be an invaluable asset to our organization. Felicia is a hotline volunteer, and facilitates several of our support groups. She coordinates and has expanded our workshop series and increased the number of legal and financial workshops we offer for clients needing advice on issues such as immigration, divorce, child custody, banking and credit affairs. She is a member of our Speakers’ Bureau. She has coordinated new wellness and educational programs being offered at the Center.

Felicia also provides on-site administrative support at our headquarters and recently has started to provide counseling for walk-ins. She is a member of both our SafeWalk and Annual Dinner committees, and has also served as Chair of the “Hearts of Hope” breakfast since 2017. Above all else, Felicia is the kindest, most compassionate person known and loved by Center staff and volunteers.

Congratulations, Felicia!
