Support our Work to End the Violence

It is thanks to the support of people like you that The Center for Empowerment and Education is able to provide free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other major life challenges. Funds provided to The Center support our critically needed services to more than 30,000 adults and children annually throughout our 13-town service area.

The Center’s, a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, offers several ways to contribute including personal donations, gifts in memory or honor, corporate matching gifts, sponsorship, and shopping on the web.  All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

 

Personal Donation

Donations can be made in person, by mail, over the phone, or through our website. We accept cash, check or credit card. You can make a donation in person by stopping by The Center on weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM. All checks should be made payable to the The Center for Empowerment and Education.

GIFTS IN MEMORY OR HONOR

This is a very special way to make a memorial gift in honor of a friend or loved one or to celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or graduation.

Make a secure online donation in someone’s memory or honor to make a difference in the lives of all those that turn to us for help in rebuilding their lives and planning a future that is violence free.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Corporations, local merchants and families can support our services through our Annual Dinner, our Annual “Hearts of Hope” Breakfast, our Annual 4k SafeWalk, and many other special fundraisers.

CORPORATE GIVING

Each year, dedicated companies and their employees support the The Center for Empowerment and Education’s lifesaving work.

For example, many corporations have a matching gift program. Your Human Resources department can tell you if your company offers this program. By completing the necessary form(s) you can double your contribution to The Center.

Let our Development staff help you to identify The Center initiatives that best match y our organization’s programmatic goals.

PLANNED GIFTS

Include a gift to The Center in your trust or estate plans and leave future generations a proud legacy – support for the invaluable work of The Center.

WHAT YOUR GIFT CAN DO

$1000 Can provide one week of emergency shelter and support at Patricia House for a mother and her children forced to flee from domestic or sexual violence in their homes.

 

$500 Can provide ten sessions of a domestic violence support group with two facilitators. Or can provide a child victim of sexual assault with ten individual counseling sessions with a certified Child Advocate.

 

$250 Can help so many by providing approximately two weeks of “after hour” counseling and support in the middle of the night for victims of sexual assault. Or can provide five counseling sessions to a person experiencing a painful divorce.

 

$100 Can provide a prevention program in a local school to help keep our children safe. Or can provide two individual counseling sessions for a victim of domestic violence.

 

$50 Will help us purchase food and supplies for our shelter.

 

$25 Will help us to purchase HART bus passes or gift cards to area grocery and department stores for our shelter residents.
