CAMPAIGN GOALS
Since 1975, The Center has been speaking up and speaking out for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We are speaking up and speaking out with education about non-violence, safety, healthy relationships and respect in our 13-town community. Now we ask YOU – members of our community, our supporters – to join us by making an investment in the future of The Center and be part of our good work.

New Residential Facility for Individuals and Families – Help Us Raise the Roof!

The Board of Directors and The Center management have decided it’s time to build a new facility that better serves the individuals and families in transition for whom we provide safe and secure housing. With the help of the City of Danbury, we’ve received a piece of property to make this a reality.
ENHANCE:

Education programs
Over the past few years, our Educational Outreach programs have seen a diversification in audience makeup, increases in participants and increases in requests from a wider range of institutions. Our educational programs meet all the standards and core performance indicators to fulfill the state-mandated sexual assault awareness and prevention programs in grades K-12. As a result, our programming in schools has expanded, new partnerships have formed, and demand has increased. In our past fiscal year, our Community Education team of 5 prevention educators served over 30,000 participants. We are in greater need of more educators now more than ever before.
Counseling & Advocacy
Hiring additional staff will address the demand for services by a growing population, including Spanish-speaking women, children, teens and preteens. We can expand on-site counseling and advocacy for children residing at our residential facility, at hospitals, police departments, satellite locations and at Danbury Superior Court.
The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence – of which the Women’s Center is a member – made it a priority to ensure accessibility to culturally-specific information by bilingual, certified domestic violence counseling in Spanish-speaking communities and for those with limited English proficiency. We strive to have the same priority.
GROW:

Increase the Endowment
Raising endowment dollars is vital to protect us from unexpected operational deficits and expenses, particularly as government funding consistently decreases and is unpredictable. Every dollar invested in our endowment enhances our financial security and assures our long-term future.
