Our events are a key part of our fundraising program, as well as a platform with which to share our success stories, engage with each other, and have a good time.
SafeWalk
SafeWalk is The Center for Empowerment and Education’s (CEE) premier event to unite the community in our vision to create safer communities free from interpersonal violence for all individuals in Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties, as well as raise funds to support our mission. Every year, thousands of people across Connecticut gather together in small and large groups to walk, or run a 4k together in support of our mission. SafeWalk is a virtual event occurring the last weekend of September that launches Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.
Individuals and teams are encouraged to walk, run and fundraise from the comfort of their own home/communities. Choose a time anytime that weekend that works with your schedule, hop on a treadmill, walk around your neighborhood, or meet up with a group of friends at a large public space and move for a cause.
SafeWalk Chair, Kathy Graham of Ridgefield, expressed her gratitude about SafeWalk “It is very rewarding to see communities recognize the value of The Center's work and come together to support SafeWalk. SafeWalk has two primary goals. One is to raise funds to support the programs that The Center can offer for free to its clients. The second, equally important goal, is to raise awareness of The Center’s programs and services so that people know help is available if needed. Thank you everyone for making this such a successful event.”
The funds raised at this event help to support the no-cost and confidential services offered by CEE to victims experiencing domestic or sexual violence. Annual Breakfast
The Hearts of Hope Annual Breakfast allows friends of The Center for Empowerment and Education (CEE) to unite and honor the work done each year to meet our mission and is held every March. This is one of our three major fundraisers annually to raise critical funds to support our no-cost and confidential services. During our Hearts of Hope, supporters enjoy a delicious breakfast overlooking Candlewood Lake and hear a powerful message from survivors. Save the date for Wednesday, March 6, 2024 with a SNOW DATE of March 7.
Annual Dinner
Every spring, The Center for Empowerment and Education (CEE) gathers for cocktails and dinner to honor and celebrate community members that are closely connected to advancing CEE’s mission. The Annual Dinner is our largest fundraiser to ensure we have the resources to provide crisis navigation services, ongoing supportive services, and prevention education and training services. Each year CEE has to fundraise 50% of our annual revenue to provide each vital service at no cost. The Annual Dinner helps make that possible.
