Help be a Part of the Solution
The support provided by our dedicated volunteers enables The Center for Empowerment and Education (CEE) to reach an average of 30,000 people each year. CEE is indebted to our volunteer force and welcomes you to become a part of this worthwhile organization. Together we can make a difference and work to end the violence.
“Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
~Margaret Mead
Direct Service
As a 24/7 crisis response organization, volunteers assisting with hotline shifts, hospital response, support group facilitators, and child advocacy support help us tremendously to meet the ever-increasing needs in our community. You’re not only helping the individuals experiencing violence in need, but also our organization as a whole – we can only thrive to our maximum capacity with your help.
To be a direct service volunteer, you must complete the 40-hour state-certification training provided in-house per CGS 52-146k.
Qualified candidates providing direct service must be 18 years or older and have strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity and competency.
Please Note: the topics discussed in the 40-hour training are sensitive in nature and may be triggering for some.
Cost to Attend Training: $75 for community members/public, $29 for students. Cost covers background checks and materials for training.
